We asked 7 short questions to our Kamal to get to know him better.
1. What is the most inspiring and forming your approach to patient care?
As a doctor, we are often accustomed to treating sick patients every day, but I make conscious efforts not to forget the challenges that come by becoming patients. I try hard to approach every interaction from the place of empathy, consideration, and affection, always remembering emotional and psychological victims that can be taken by the disease.
2. What is your favorite part of your job?
I was really excited to be a transplant provider. There is nothing more useful than giving patients with the failure of the organs of the final stage of the second chance of life and helping to alleviate some of their suffering. Able to make such a deep impact on one’s health and the future is very satisfying, and is an honor to be part of their journey to recovery.
3. What is your biggest fear when you are a patient?
Being a patient is a very vulnerable experience. Even as a doctor, I sometimes find myself overwhelmed by the complexity of the health care system, which deepens my appreciation for the efforts made by my patient every day to navigate. Their resilience in facing these challenges, often without the same level of understanding or support, is something that I really admire and is considered because I care about them.
4. What do you do to get rid of stress?
I enjoy listening to music, and trying to have a fixed training schedule, especially doing pilates.
5. Dogs or cats?
Dog
6. The last film you watch? Thumb up or down?
Moana 2, that is a good film.
7. The best advice you have ever heard of?
Treating other people like you want to be treated basically is a gold rule, and that is the principle that I fight for to be followed in my practice. This is about showing respect, kindness, and understanding – recognizing the inherent dignity of everyone, especially when they are the most vulnerable
