1. What is the most inspiring and forming your approach to patient care?

Sacred trust patients are placed in a surgeon. I continue to be humble with how patients entrust us not only with their medical treatment, but with their entire existence – allowing us to make permanent changes in their bodies in pursuing healing.

This extraordinary responsibility has instills a deep respect for me for every patient’s interaction and encourages my commitment to care for every patient with respect, compassion, and the advantages they get.

2. What is your favorite part of your job?

Witnessing how surgical intervention can fundamentally change the patient’s life path. This is not just about treating diseases – this is about restoring hope and functionality. Seeing patients regain their quality of life and witness their entire views change through surgical treatment never grow old. At that time when you realize that you have helped restore not only physical functions, but someone’s hopes for the future – that is what makes this successful so meaningful.

3. What is your biggest fear as a patient?

Uncertainty – Do not know whether the recommended treatment is completely the best choice or what happens if it does not function as expected. Unknown ‘what’s Next’ and whether we are pursuing the most effective path will keep me at night. This is why I prioritize clear communication with my patient, making sure they understand not only what we do, but why, and what our backup plans if needed.

4. What do you do to get rid of stress?

Run to help me clear my head. After an intense day in OR, there is something therapy about being able to focus on traces and escape rhythms.

5. Dogs or cats?

I refused to choose a party in a great pet debate. I am like Switzerland, but with more animal videos on my cellphone.

6. The last film you watch? Thumb up or down?

Elemental. My children and I gave up the thumb!

7. The best advice you have ever heard of?

Never forget that human experience is universal. No matter what unites us – whether it is in a medical atmosphere or elsewhere – we all share hope, fear, and general needs. Maintaining that perspective helps me approach every interaction with empathy and understanding.
